This eye catching, historical, and amazing novel will catch your eye once you walk into a book store. Rise to Rebellion by Jeff Shaara is 502 pages, but this blog is only about the first 131 pages. This historical fiction book starts after the Seven Years War has ended and the English government is broke. The king taxes the colonials to help pay the debt causing anger among the colonials. This anger leads to the Boston Massacre where it is the first time British troops shoot the colonials. It describes the unfair treatment of the colonials and their desire for independence. The book is recommended for intelligent, young readers or adults who love a great history.
I recommended Rise to Rebellion to anyone who loves a good history. Some of the challenges a young reader might have is that some arguments are hard to follow like when John Adams was defending the colonials at a town hall meeting in Boston. A critical part of this book is the Boston Massacre. This astounding part is very well described and a great addition to the book. The book also has a great dialogue, and you will learn a lot from it.
This is an excellent book, and I learned a lot of American history from it. Jeff Shaara is a great writer of historical fiction who has written nine books that go from the American Revolution to World War II. I strongly recommend Rise to Rebellion to all history lovers or anyone due to it being very interesting and a wonderful read. Rise to Rebellion by Jeff Shaara will keep you reading, and will give you a good idea on how we got our independence.
